Why Can't I Have A Cadbury's Creme Egg?

This morning, as an additional supplement to my normal, rather tiresome, rations, Doug (one of my captors) proffered a carrot through the wires of my hutch. The gift was taken as I'm never one to turn down a bit of variety in my diet - and it does make a welcome change from lettuce and rabbit pellets- but I do think Doug could do a bit better. What I would really like to have been offered was a Cadbury's Creme Egg, that would have made my morning, made my week in fact.

But no, poor old Joel has to make do with a carrot. Every time I get a treat, it's a vegetable. How boring. Doug hardly broke the bank with this gift, I bet one single carrot doesn't cost more than a few pence in Tescos. But it's not the money that rankles with this rabbit, no, it's the lack of thought and understanding that bothers me. No one cares to think that I might like something unhealthy for a change. I'm fed up with veg. I want chocolate and in particular I would like a Cadbury's Creme Egg.

Now, you might say that rabbits shouldn't eat chocolate and it would be nothing short of cruelty for an owner to start offering sweets to their pets. You are of course right, but I put this to my human readers: Is a Cadbury's Creme Egg good for you? Of course it bloody isn't, but that doesn't stop people from eating them. I'm not asking for chocolate every day, but an occasional sickly treat would really brighten up my days.

Anyway, I musn't grumble too much, at least I am adequately fed and watered. I have bedding and my hutch is positioned away from the cold drafts. Once I've finished my carrot (there's a bit left around the top which I saved earlier) then I'm going to turn in and dream of sweet things

Goodnight everyone

Joel
